OCR Week In Review
Well, this one got out later than I was hoping after a weekend full of teaching the FMS Level 1 and 2 workshops this past weekend in San Francisco. But better late then never. Here are some of the best posts that I have come across this week.

That darn pain cave. It is something that we will have to deal with at some point during racing and training. I really enjoyed this article from MudRunGuide.com by Ashley Ebenhoch. I appreciate she mentions that it is not just about pain and it is about taking care of yourself first and foremost. But she gives some great advice on how to exist in the pain cave.

Top Workout Article:
I post quite a few things from Josh Henkins and the DVRT system. For good reason though. They put out some great content. Here is no exception. I am a huge fan of complexes and complex training. In this article they discuss more about complexes and share some examples for you to try. If you really like complexes, you can check out this program I put together Exercise Complexes Made Simple.

Top Recovery Article:
There is no question that ice baths have become more and more popular for recovery. Sometimes when we hear something is good for us we take a blanket approach and use it for everything. But different workouts may require different types of recovery methods. Here is an interesting review on some research showing that ice baths may not be the best recovery method of strength training. I think more research in this area is needed, but still good to note.
Top Nutrition Article:
Nutrition is always a tough topic to review because there are so many different options out there. Not always right versus wrong, simply different for different people. The key is understanding how YOUR body responds to different things. So you need to experiment and be consistent.
Here is a Spartan article where Spartan Pro and SGX Trainer Kevin Donoghue goes over some valuable tips to get started with concerning race day nutrition.
