With very little knowledge of obstacle course races I started training with Mike for my first Spartan Race.

While you can’t train for these types of races out on the actual course, Mike’s training program is the next best thing.
Anyone at any skill level will gain value from these classes – whether it’s learning how to get up the rope climb, jumping over a seven foot wall, or challenging yourself with a workout that emulates the intensity of race day.
Through Mike’s training program, it allowed me to race confidently for my first race and place 11th in my age group!

Part of what makes Anne so great is that she is a role model, she leads by example and she would not suggest anything that she would not do herself. As a Dietitian and Athlete she is a spectacular resource.

What started as a hope for weight loss ended in a laundry list of great things. I dropped 60lbs, gained knowledge on how to properly eat, changed my eating habits, and actually crave healthy foods now!

I never thought about overall nutrition. I just wanted to lose weight, look, and feel better.

By working with Anne I now understand what constitutes a balanced diet. Most importantly, I’ve learned a lot about myself. One of the biggest things I’ve learned is that a lot of the barriers I have are in my mind, if you think you can’t, then you can’t, if you think you can, then you can.

I would have never thought that a Spartan race would have been in my future. I remember my first day at the gym and thinking to myself, “Wow, this is challenging. I hope I don’t get hurt.” I completed my first Spartan Race in Chino Hills. The race was a challenge, but FUN! I know that this training  program was the reason I was able to rise to the challenge. I felt conditioned, strong, and ready.

The race prep, which included obstacles similar to the race, strength training, and CONDITIONING helped me finish the race.

I used this program to prep for my Ultra Beast.  My first lap with the extra loop was my fastest Beast time yet (45 min faster than I did last year.  It was still light out.  And I was ecstatic.

I will say after doing this program I felt like I could go for days.  I blew thru the barbed wire crawls which was a first and also felt great on the carries.  I was able to scamper over the Bender and Inverse Walls as well.  I also felt good on the downhills and was able to pass people on the muddy parts due to added agility.  And the run work and grip work helped a ton.

I began working with Anne because my main goal was to learn how to fuel my body. Working out a lot, feeling tired and sluggish. I had enough. I’ve had many people show me how to eat better but not how to fuel.

My favorite part about working with Anne was that I didn’t have to count calories (yay!) to lose weight, I just needed to fuel my body correctly and everything else (weight loss) would fall into place. I have more energy, I don’t tire as quickly while working out or running.

I have learned to fuel instead of just fill and that is a huge. I don’t eat to just get calories now, I eat to fuel my body. Before I would be like “oh, geez I’m 300 calories shy of 1600 calories, I need to eat” and I would put pretty much anything in my mouth. Now I eat my five meals, stay within my macros and feel good.

In my 7 races (3 sprints, 3 supers, 1 beast) I have only failed one obstacles, and that was the twister the first time I did it. Eliminating burpees from my races has allowed me to be more successful by far. I have been in the top 10 of every elite race since my first, aside from one 11th place finish. This includes two podium finishes. If I failed even one obstacle per race, my podiums would be erased, and most likely I would have no top 10 finishes. So I attribute a huge amount of my success and enjoyment to the guidance of this program.

My preparation for every race is dialed in. Mike assisted me in developing a foundation of success which I continue to build on.

Anyone who wants to get better at obstacle course racing would benefit from this coaching. This includes a complete novice or an experienced athlete.
